Designed for sound. Engineered for light.
Decorative acoustic panels, brought to life with engineered illumination.
Designed by acou.space Illuminated by Applelec Light Engines.
LumiSorb is a decorative illuminated acoustic panel that combines patterned surface design, effective sound absorption and precision-engineered illumination. Developed in collaboration with acou.space and Applelec Lighting, LumiSorb transforms functional acoustic panelling into considered architectural interior features, where light, material and performance are designed as one.

Acoustic performance, designed into the surface
LumiSorb panels are manufactured from sound-absorbing PET acoustic felt made from 100% PET, containing 65–75% recycled post-consumer bottle flake. The material delivers effective sound absorption while maintaining a refined surface suitable for hospitality, workplace and public interiors.
Fire-retardant for interior applications to EN 13501 (B-s1, d0), with acoustic performance tailored to panel configuration. A typical installation using 12mm PET acoustic felt with a 50mm air gap achieves Acoustic Class C performance (NRC 0.76, αw 0.6).
Decorative patterns, designed for illumination
The LumiSorb pattern range features decorative, light-permeable acoustic designs created to transform acoustic panels into illuminated interior features. Each pattern is designed to allow light to pass through the surface, enhancing form, rhythm and depth when illuminated.
Panels can be specified individually or combined to create larger illuminated feature walls.
In addition to the core pattern range, bespoke LumiSorb designs can be developed in collaboration with acou.space. Inspired by natural forms, architectural language or abstract concepts, bespoke patterns are engineered to work seamlessly with integrated illumination — creating truly unique illuminated acoustic features for specific projects.

Bespoke options available
In addition to the core pattern range, bespoke LumiSorb designs can be developed in collaboration with acou.space. Inspired by natural forms, architectural language or abstract concepts, bespoke patterns are engineered to work seamlessly with integrated illumination — creating truly unique illuminated acoustic features for specific projects.
Colour palettes to complement every interior
All LumiSorb patterns are available across a wide range of acou.space acoustic felt collection colours, offering designers the flexibility to tailor panels to a variety of interior schemes. The colour range includes contemporary and nature-inspired tones, allowing a balanced relationship between pattern, material and illumination.

Tailor-made illumination, engineered to perform
Each LumiSorb panel is back illuminated by a tailor-made Applelec Light Engine, engineered for the chosen pattern, scale and application. This ensures soft, even illumination with no hotspots, enhancing texture, depth and surface expression.
Highly energy-efficient options are available, including Grade A and DC-approved LEDs. Applelec LED Light Sheet solutions have achieved an excellent TM66 circularity rating of 2.7 and qualify for the Applelec Recycling Scheme, supporting a circular design approach.

Where light becomes part of the surface
Integrated illumination is engineered into every Applelec Interiors solution from the outset. Rather than relying on a single lighting format, we draw on Applelec’s extensive manufacturing experience and long-standing LED partners to engineer the most appropriate illumination solution for each surface and application.
Illumination may be delivered using a range of tried and tested backlighting approaches — from Applelec LED Light Sheet (now TM66 rated 2.7) to a number of LED solutions, selected to suit the depth, scale, material translucency, and performance requirements of the project. LED options include Grade A, DC-approved high-efficiency, tuneable white, RGBW, addressable, high-CRI LEDs and more.
Integrated into a bespoke lightbox structure, Applelec Light Engines support the surface and house the illumination, delivering discrete to no visible framing from the front. Each solution is engineered as a complete, ready-to-spec and install system, drawing on Applelec’s decades of experience in manufacturing architectural lighting, bespoke trade signage fabrication, and LED distribution.
